Nice Dynamic Themes at Google Homepage

Google is good at innovations. They proved it once again yesterday by introducing a new (really cool) feature at the Google Personalized Homepage(www.google.com/ig): the Dynamic Themes that changes with your local time and weather.




There are now six themes featured at the Google IG, but it can be expected that they will release more or let the users build custom themes sooner or later. Apart from just decorating the Google homepage, the themes do change with the time so you won't be staring at a static theme all day.



One hidden nicety has been discovered too. All the themes showed something strange at 3:14 AM like some ghosts (though they are cute) appeared on Tea House, a monster at the Beach, some UFOs under the starry sky of the City Scape, and a PI on the sky.

I hope Google move one step further to decorate their other products with similar themes!

Gtalk most searched

Now that Google Trends is open again, I tried "Gtalk" on it. It's interesting to see Rangoon tops the Gtalk search trend. It may be because it is the only IM that's open in Union of Myanmar. :D

"New Features" is now blue

Google has changed the color of New Features in gmail from dark red to blue to blend it in the menu at the upper right corner. Is Google trying to be unobtrusive? I prefer, personally speaking, the previous red color as it draws attention right away.

What a fan...

A Bulgarian football fan is celebrating a partial victory in his legal battle to change his name to Manchester United.

Marin Levidzhev, from Veliko Tarnovo, is now legally allowed to call himself Manchester Levidzhev after a two year court case.

But local magistrates said his ardent support of the club was not enough reason to change his surname to United.

Mr Levidzhev said he would take the case to a higher court.

"I feel as if I am only at the half-time break. I won't feel right until I get all my name changed to Manchester United," he said.

"I love the club. It's my whole life and I want my name to reflect that."

This is the first ever time a fan wants to change his name to the club's name. One of the greatest surprises to me.
